>> yonder comes a poet and a painter
(timon: IV, iii)

i am particularly fond of this shakespeare-quote-title i just found. as i usually, daily write poetry. but, i walk around with a blank book purse journal because i am incapable of -just- writing. i must sketch, doodle, paint, paste, collage, create.
below are my paintings (mostly watercolour) i have finished & feel like sharing. as the best of i spose. ungodly amounts of other scribbles & drawings are at my deviantART gallery, wonkykitten.

random others, L-R: as above, so below :: froud-inspired. from '02.

work from my art class at philip's acadamey at andover, summer '02.
L-R: figure study in india ink we had some children models, and the homework was to touch it up, put in a background. mushrooms & forest ensued.
building study my first real, from-life scenic watercolour. i ended up going back and spending a couple hours in the sun after class just to finish it off. i was pretty proud of it. its highly stylized, and that's because i was kinda-consciously copying my line-technique from tenniel's illustrations for 'alice'
poetry & painting final this is probably my most intricate and biggest watercolour to date, and one i'm pretty proud of even if i've improved in subtler shading since then. i've never scanned or photographed it before, but it's about to go get framed under glass so i guess this was a good time. the project was to paint a picture using lines of poetry. so i have some cummings, and some of my own. and some froud-faerie poses were used as figure-studies for my own creatures. i drew while studying my own hands for the poses and it's a bit of a multimedia mishmash.

blasts from my past i am still proud of for peculiar prettiness? hehe.
L-R: ballerina mousey thing by me in LOWER SCHOOL! ahah, tempera & paper collage, probably for the winter assembly. i was so much cooler before i hit double digits.
alice & mushroom my very first ever watercolour painting. from a half-day seminar/lesson thing i took with my sister back in winter '01 methinks.
ketchup bottles an andy warhol study (from freshman year drawing/painting '00)
i made my own ketchup stamp & painting based on a particular piece of his entirely composed of coke bottles. this was part of an artist-study final project.
